This young and dynamic leader has been the prime mobiliser of Dr. D.Y. Patil Education Society and Dr. D. Y. Patil Pratishthan’s Multidimensional activities since 1989. He has more than 30 educational institutions under him which include a Medical college, Engineering College, Polytechnic College, Agriculture College and also a number of Marathi and English medium schools.
Due to his constant dedicated efforts and meritorious work in the field of Medical Education, the Dr. D. Y. Patil education society was declared Deemed to be University in September 2005 by the Govt. of India. The D. Y. Patil Deemed university presently has a top class medical college, 604 bedded Hospital and College of Nursing.
The medical college has an intake capacity of 100 students every year as also 41 students are admitted every year for P. G. Courses. The Hospital is fully equipped with sophisticated and latest equipments with the State-of-the-art facilities. At Talasande which in 25 km from Kolhapur, he has converted 210 acres of vast land into agricultur-al land and fruit orchard containing mango and coconut trees. For his outstanding performance in the field of agriculture and education he has been felicitated with Vanashree Puraskar, Indira Priyadarshini Vrikshmitra, Kolhapur Bushan, Krishinishta Puraskar, Vidya Bharati Award, Rashtriya Shikshan Sanman Puraskar.
